Traci says, "I grew up in Oklahoma. My grandmother had a green thumb. We were always out in the garden planting, composting etc. I moved to Nashville back in 1987, met my husband, and started having children. I continued gardening, working with perennials and flowering shrubs mostly. It was when I moved to Green Hills down the street from Mrs. Wynonna Lurie, that really got me excited about perennial gardening in Tennessee, She coached me and shared all kinds of native perennials. I learned more from her than I could have ever hoped. I began working at the pre-school my children attended and I even began studying early childhood education at Nashville State Community College. After the first year, I realized my heart was in horticulture. I changed my studies and received my degree. I started my own gardening service and specialized in planting and designing perennial gardens. My love for gardening continues through teaching my children and working at Gardens of Babylon."
